Sports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Information about sports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country formerly known as the Congo Free State (1885-1908), the Belgian Congo (1908-1960) the Republic of the Congo (1960-1964), and Zaire (1965-1997). Today it often referred to as "Congo Kinshasa" or "DR Congo". The Democratic Republic of the Congo should not be confused with its neighbor country, the Republic of the Congo.
